Dr. Lee' s word of caution: Method from this study (below) is only for study and is not the best way to use acupuncture to get pregnant. It has been shown by other study that there is no improvement with these 2 acupuncture sessions around transfer. Even if it did help, there are still 58% patients did not get pregnant due to the "shotgun therapy" where everyone gets the same treatments regardless of the cause. The best way to get pregnant is to find and correct the imbalance months before the IVF with an experienced Fertility Acupuncturist not the "Shotgun acupuncturist" in an IVF clinic. These acupuncturists who blindly does the "Shotgun Therapy" under the direction of in an IVF doctor are not independently enough to inform you whether or not your condition is ready for IVF. In addition, they are not suppose to know. Their bosses (the doctor) already decided the patients are ready and the acupuncturists are just there working as a technicians for putting the needles in. Never mind about finding and correcting imbalances.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of acupuncture on the pregnancy rate in assisted reproduction therapy (ART) by comparing a group of patients receiving acupuncture treatment shortly before and after embryo transfer with a control group receiving no acupuncture.
Design: Prospective randomized study.
Method: Two acupuncture treatments given. One before and one after transfer of embryos.
Result(s): Clinical pregnancies were documented in 34 of 80 patients in the acupuncture group, whereas pregnancy rate was only (21 out of 80 patients) in the control group.>>

The increase in pregnancy rate was attributed to the relaxations induced the acupuncture. However, if patients are not internal optimized and balanced, one can drug the patients to sleep or unconscious during the embryo transfer and still not able to produce pregnancy. Common sense tells us that if one is not prepared for a school exam, and only rely on a tutor's help for 1/2 hour before the test. One is doomed to fail. Do not repeat the same mistake. If one wants to pass a test, one needs to study until one is fully prepared. To achieve pregnancy, woman needs to get prepared, so does the man. The quality of the embryo depends on the qualities of the egg and the sperm. Dr. Lee has helped many patients to get pregnant including whose with multiple IVFs and IVFs+shotgun acupuncture failures.
